Jan-2012 HAPPY NEW YEAR Happy New Year to all our customers.
We are busy here at Pocket Publications preparing music for performances all over the world.
In February 2012 Alaska Opera will be doing Tony's reduction of Verdi's Macbeth. Closer to home, Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades will be performed by Bath Opera and in March Opera Hong Kong are staging a production of Rossini's Barber of Seville.
A complete programme of music has been sent to Operaen i Kristiansund for their opera gala concert in February. Meanwhile, we are preparing a reduced version of Cendrillon for Holloway College for performances later this year.
Nov-2011 Janacek Operas Following our negotiations with UE for the publication of our reduced orchestrations of Janacek operas (JENUFA, VIXEN and KATJA KABANOVA), UE have asked us to put the following on our website.
If you are interested in hiring any of the above operas, you must contact Universal Edition at lizenzen@universaledition for performing licences. UE will then instruct us to release the parts when contracts have been signed.
Until the works have been set by Universal Edition, for VIXEN and KATYA KABANOVA the only existing sets of parts are with Pocket Publications. These can be used by potential clients, but only after negotiations and contracts have been signed between performers and UE. UE is supplying the performance material of JENUFA which is at present available in a cut-and-paste set of parts and marked up full score (very clear).
UE will then instruct Pocket Publications to release the performing material. Pocket Publications will also supply perusal scores on request.
VIXEN and KATJA are both due to be published in the near future, but as already mentioned, the only sets of parts are with Pocket Publications. JENUFA will be published as soon as the score has been completed, which will be in the very near future.
Nov-2011 Catalogue update
Work on updating our catalogue continues: The catalogue listings of Christmas music and the music of Johann Strauss have been checked and updated ready for the festive season. We are currently about a third of the way through the operatic section of the library but there is a lot to be done. If you can't see what you are looking for it is always worth contacting us.
